Pioneering a new paradigm of Environmental Wellness
Our 222nm Far UVC Technology was developed by Columbia University and our LED lights are manufactured in Japan. At EcoBay, we integrate advanced Far UVC technology with artificial intelligence and digital twin solutions to create safer, healthier spaces while minimising environmental impact through smart, data-driven disinfection.
Founded by experts in UV science, AI, and building information modeling (BIM), EcoBay stands at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and practical health safety solutions. Our digital twin platform creates virtual replicas of physical environments — enabling precise mapping of disinfection coverage and real-time optimisation for maximum protection with minimal resource consumption.

Unlike conventional UVC (254nm) which penetrates and damages living tissue, 222nm Far UVC cannot pass through the outer dead-cell layer of human skin or the tear-film layer of the eye. It is absorbed before reaching any living cells, making it biologically safe for people while remaining lethal to pathogens.
All EcoBay products use proprietary optical narrowband cut filters certified to block any off-peak wavelengths, and are fully compliant with ACGIH exposure limits and IEC 62471 photobiological safety standards.
Far UVC refers to ultraviolet light in the 200–235nm range. The 222nm wavelength — generated by Krypton Chloride (KrCl) excimer lamps — is the most effective and safe wavelength for germicidal applications. Pioneering research at Columbia University confirmed that 222nm Far UVC inactivates viruses, bacteria, and mold at 99.9%+ rates while posing no measurable risk to humans.
EcoBay brings this Columbia University-developed science into practical, AI-integrated fixtures for healthcare, commercial, hospitality, and transportation environments across Hong Kong and beyond.
EcoBay's filtered 222nm Far UVC products produce ozone well below any safety threshold. Our proprietary optical filters ensure only the target 222nm wavelength is emitted, blocking the shorter wavelengths that can generate ozone. All devices are certified safe for continuous operation in fully occupied indoor spaces.
Far UVC 222nm has been demonstrated to inactivate SARS-CoV-2, influenza viruses, drug-resistant bacteria (MRSA, MDROs), tuberculosis, mold spores, and a broad spectrum of airborne and surface-borne microorganisms — achieving greater than 99.9% inactivation rates in peer-reviewed studies from Columbia University and other leading institutions.
EcoBay's AI-powered Digital Twin platform creates a precise virtual replica of your environment using BIM (Building Information Modeling) data — IFC and Revit compatible. The AI simulates Far UVC coverage in real time, identifies gaps, optimises device placement, automates disinfection schedules, and generates compliance-ready reports. Predictive maintenance alerts ensure continuous peak performance.
